'The Age of Stupid' Fundraiser

An open air film screening - 'The Age of Stupid'. The highly acclaimed and powerful - 'must see' docu/drama and call to action starring Pete Postlethwaite. It charts the unfolding story of climate change, looking back from 2055 through six stories woven together.

Bring along BLANKETS and WARM CLOTHES.

Preceded by 'Imagine a Garden', 15 minute film, courtesy of SchMovies, telling the story of the Lewes Road Community Garden.

This event is a fundraiser for 'Lewes Road for Clean Air' Campaign which is having an event this Sunday as part of CAR FREE DAY.

CAR FREE DAY : Launching 'Lewes Road for Clean Air'

- A Street/Garden Party in Edinburgh Rd & the Community Garden with live music, a market place, lots of children's activities and an exhibition.

- The Big Lemon Bus Company will provide a free Park & Ride shuttle service from Brighton University Moulsecoomb sites to the Old Steine to help free the Lewes Road of cars.

'IMAGINE A GARDEN' - THE MOVIE

A new 15-minute film has just been made about the Garden thanks to SchMovies. It will be screened at the Garden on Friday 18 September when copies will be available.

In the running for blooming city prize

The Lewes Road has been short-listed in the 'Best Street' category of the 2009 City in Bloom competition following the advent of the Community Garden. The results will be announced at a prize-giviing event on Thursday 3 September at the Metropole Hotel.

Two representatives from The Garden attended.
